On May 24, 2023, Comrade Tran Tue Hien, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc Province, together with representatives of provincial departments and sectors, visited and conducted field surveys on the implementation of the "High-tech agricultural production, processing, and business project from banana" in the area. The delegation was welcomed by Mr. Duong Thanh Huan, Secretary of the District Party Committee, Mr. Le Quang Oanh, Chairman of the District People's Committee, and others.
As part of the work program, the provincial and district working delegations directly inspected and surveyed the area designated for the high-tech banana cultivation project, which has been planned with a total area of 157.8 hectares. Currently, 140 hectares have been planted in the designated area, which has been approved by the province for the high-tech banana cultivation project. Additionally, they visited the production and processing area.
The project "Production, processing, and trading of banana products" started experimental cultivation in June 2022. The project covers an area of 157.8 hectares with a total investment of about 202 billion VND. The products are exported from the second quarter of 2023. The project is designed with a market supply capacity of about 8,500 tons of products per year, mainly exported to Japan, South Korea, China, some European countries, and the domestic market. Currently, the company is in the process of building a planting area code for the product. This is a favorable condition for the product to enter demanding markets in the near future.
Throughout the implementation period, the project has been evaluated to adhere to the direction and orientation of the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of Binh Phuoc Province regarding the development of clean agriculture, organic agriculture for the period of 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030, focusing on promoting the potential and strengths of high-tech agricultural production in the province.
Based on field surveys and feedback from the company and partners, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Tue Hien stated that the first products exported to the Japanese and South Korean markets are clear evidence of the efforts and endeavors of investors and partners in ensuring the planting, care, and production of high-quality products.
After the field visit, the provincial working delegation held discussions with the district People's Committee and the company to report the results and discuss the direction of agricultural development applying high technology.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Tue Hien suggested that the district People's Committee continue to implement policies to attract investment in high-tech agricultural applications to promote the local agricultural strengths, contribute to job creation, and increase income for local workers. She also proposed that the company continue to coordinate and support partners in building suitable mechanisms to develop and expand the high-tech banana cultivation project in a sustainable direction, contributing to building and enhancing the brand of Binh Phuoc agricultural products in the international integration process.
